PEST & TERMITE INSPECTION REPORTS
TERMITE & PEST INSPECTION REPORTS
Specialised timber pest inspectors should play an important role in any home inspection. Termites regularly go unnoticed until they have caused devastating damage to a building.
Pro Property Reports offer a service that includes a visual pest and termite inspection of all accessible and available areas of a property, a necessity for determining if there are active termites present or if there is any termite damage.
Termites tend to stay underground or within wood products and are often overlooked. It is almost impossible for an inspector to visually identify or locate an active termite infestation by looking at only the finished surface of a building.
An inspector will usually take around 1 Hour to examine the interior and exterior of the home or building including any accessible roof cavities and sub-floor areas.
HOW DOES A TERMITE INSPECTION REPORT WORK?
A Pest & Termite Inspection Report evaluates:
- Evidence of active or previous termite activity
- Accessibility and areas inspected on the property
- Conditions that may be conducive to timber pest attacks
The report will also identify any areas the inspector was unable to access on the day of the property inspection.
Photographs may be included to illustrate defects and/or areas of concern that the inspector has noticed in the course of the inspection.
TERMITE & PEST INSPECTION REPORT INCLUSIONS
Pro Property Reports’ pest inspectors carry out a complete and thorough inspection to all accessible parts of the property. These include the following areas:
- Interior of the building
- Exterior of the building
- Roof space
- Under-floor space
- Roof exterior (subject to health and safety regulations)
- Garage, carport and garden shed
- Separate laundry or toilet
- Small retaining walls (ie. non-structural)
- Steps, fencing, paths and driveways
It’s important to remember that a Termite & Pest Inspection Report is not an all-encompassing report dealing with every single aspect of the property, and it is not a warranty against further pest attacks.
We recently had our pre-purchase inspection carried out by David Cumming from the Central Coast office.
We are very happy with the detailed report and David’s availability to discuss the findings in the report.
David was quite knowledgeable and explained things in layman language that we could understand.
We would recommend his services or use him again if the need arose..
THERMAL IMAGING TECHNOLOGY
Pro Property Inspectors use infrared cameras for thermal imaging inspections when carrying out the pest and termite inspections.
The thermal imaging cameras are a non-destructive tool that detects heat patterns in walls, floors and roofs.
The cameras create an image based on thermal energy rather than light which helps to detect termite invasion as termites produce heat when active nests are present.
Examples of thermal images detecting pests and termites are provided below. These images were taken during several different termite inspections.
One image shows active and previous termite activity, another image shows the infestation of rats, with the third image detecting a snake.
